HI Guys,
I was wondering your thoughts regarding snow camo for a blind. I have this one spot I hunt late muzzleloader that the deer always run out of the timber to about 250-300 yards out in the field where they stop and mill around. You can't hunt next to the timber because you would get winded and the deer just come from all over. They always run out into this huge desert of a field though and hang out. I can't do much with a tree stand, so I have been toying around with the idea of a snow camo for my double bull dark horse assuming there is snow.
The place is public, so I can't leave my blind. That is out of the question. so this is going to be a same day set up hunt. There is also no fence lines to brush it in. I am planning on setting the blind about 100 yards off from where I expect them to stop to feed. So I will probably be 350-400 yards off the timber edge.
I was thinking about buying the millitary snow camo netting that I could just throw over my blind and stake it down. I thought about a sheet, but think that would be a pain in the butt. Do you guys think it would work? I have never sat out in the middle of a field on a same day hunt to know what the deer will do. I would think if there was snow on the ground the white would have to help a lot, but it is still a standing object in a field, so not sure if it matters if it is dark or not. I would also think from that distance the deer wouldn't be as spooked as they come out in the field. Just wondering your thoughts. I think I could slam a pig out in the middle of that field if I can make it work.
Thanks!!
