So I went to the thiesens in town today to get my bow tags, one statewide either sex and one antlerless. Get home after work and notice my antlerless tag says deer gun 1. I dont hunt 1st season shotgun anyway and was told by a buddy at work that ill have to wait and try to get my doe bow tag till after sept 15th. Is this true? Or can they exchange a tag if they made a mistake? Any info would be great thanks fellas.
 
Assuming there are still antlerless tags left in the county you're interested in, you should be able to get one for bow season still. Whether they can fix the mistake on the gun tag or not...don't know. All you can do is make a phone call I suppose...

The best thing to do is check the tag while standing there after buying it. If you catch it there, it's easy to correct.

Since seasons haven't started yet, I'm liking your odds of getting it changed, but I'd do it ASAP.
 
This is very common at Wal Mart so I always make them do one at a time. Its a inconveniance but worth it if youve ever got home with the wrong tags like this. They can fix it but its the point that you gotta go back out of your way
 
Just wanted to update this in case someone else goes through it. If you realize the mistake within 24 hrs, anyplace that issues tags can do the exchange. After that only the place ya go it can. But it wasnt a problem and was in and out with proper tags in 15 minutes.
