Sold the cuddeback

That is too bad fellas. From what I have seen, the cuddebacks in the past (1.3 and 3.0) were pretty good. May check ebay for an onlder and likely cheaper version?

That is from a guy that would rather sell ya one. They are great tools and it's a great hobby. It keeps you busy and looking when there is no hunting to be done. Hagshouse.com rocks.

It's hard to understand , if they are so easy to make with a little time and effort, why are these companies putting out such sub par products?

Yeah, as long as the site isn't crashing your computer with a virus and you don't have to wait over a year for a control board...... Sorry, couldn't resist.

I've been kind of in wait mode to see what Cuddeback plans to do to remedy the situation. I think most agree that these cameras aren't up to snuff. We'll see how much they value their brand. If nothing is done, I'll never buy another one- I doubt others will either.

If they can come up with a fix for these or decide to replace them with something else. What should it be? How should they handle it?

Would it have been better to rush to the market just to sell some boards? Look how well that turned out for cuddeback.

The good thing is there will no longer be a wait. The bg2 is here to stay for a long long time!

Cudde had a good thing going at first. Some of there first cameras were top notch. It's just been down hill lately. I am using Moultrie's now. With all there is to choose from cudde's are about the last on my list.

Jason, no offence to you as I know you are quite involved over there, but............
To put it quite simple, Don't fix what aint broke!!! Stopping production of the BG1 and making people wait 14 months for the BG2 has to be one of the stupidest things I've ever seen. Then after the long wait and what was supposed to be a trouble free board, many of them had a short detection range. That would be like a car maker stopping production of cars for over a year while they designed a new one. Not smart business sence. The long wait didn't bother those of you who have built tons of cameras and were on the "testing" team. Us little guys are the ones that don't appear to count for anything. I was ready to build a couple more cameras a year ago and there I waited and waited. If they would of simply told the truth that it would be at least a year wait would of been much more truthfull. Instead, they kept everyone on a short leash with "hopefully next month" I know, I could of used other boards, but from a cost standpoint, the BG board was what I wanted.
Sorry to ramble on and sound negative about this but the whole thing rubbed me the wrong way.

dblmainbeam, sorry, I didn't mean to hijack your post.

Jay,
No offense taken bud. There were a few reasons for not making the bg1 anymore. It had alot to do with two different orientraions and not being able to use them for videocams. Plus hags had to hand solder all the thru hole componets, and it just became more than he could handle.

The biggest thing to remember is these guys are in this for a hobby, not a lifestyle. In my openion they make and produce the best stuff out there and its worth the wait.

As far as the bg2, the problem is fixed and the board just ROCKS!
