Some of you may remember the first photo. It was taken two years ago in 2004. The buck scored 160 even when the landowners son took him.

The second photo was taken in the same spot this past week. Fairly similiar 5x5's two years apart in the same spot. That's a rare occasion for Nebraska.

Yeah but....why are Nebraskins still planting those wideass rows? Or was every other box on the planter empty?

Good point. Maybe that's why Iowa is the corn capital of the United States instead of Nebraska.
Of course with all the deer you guys have, you need to plant more to keep them fed.

Could also be because that's dryland corn.

Both are dang nice bucks.
But heck, I like the corn rows. 3' wide and short enough to see over, a pheasant hunters dream!!
 
Row spacing is proportional to the draft horse that will be harvesting it.

When they start harvesting with modern machinery, row width will shrink.
