Spooked buck

I was walking in to hunt today and I spooked my target buck. He didn't snort but got up from his bed and ran.

Now I know where he beds with north wind. The question is how do I hunt him now?

Whats the best practice for still trying to get him.

Should I leave area alone for a while or still try to hunt him in different area of farm?

The way he got bumped like that- when they don’t freak out (vs like dudes shooting at him) …. One easy bump like that…. Probably extremely minimal. As long as u don’t continue to do it…. He’s on same pattern & wont change a whole lot IMO. Some deer more/less sensitive than others. Don’t repeat same bump & get after him asap is my vote as well! Take your best guess where he’s going when he gets up & be ready in that spot. Good luck!!

Thanks. I have a food source west of there about 100yds. Probably will hunt that tommorow night or a stand at the edge of a bedding area. Passed him last year in that spot Thanksgiving week. Favorite time of year to hunt right now. Lots of mature bruisers on their feet

I had this same thing happen early mz this year. I actually got a picture of him still running 1/2 away. Changed my access thru permission from a neighbor and ended up getting him 5 days later. 5-6 year old deer

Bumbed a beded mature buck this year while climbing up a stand. He was beaded inside 20 yds away but I did not see him. I have a cam near that stand and got him on it 3 hrs later....

Shot a target buck once from a tree stand. Hit him a bit high. Did not recover. Shot him 6 days later same stand....

Don't over think it. I think we occasionally give em too much credit.

Just my opinion
