Sprayer Rate Help Needed...

My idea was to build a boom sprayer for my ATV. I already had a homemade 12volt sprayer for my wheeler with a wand, but I want to be able to spray foodplots aswell. So I built a boomsystem simialer to the pic below. I have been driving back and forth in the driveway putting straight water in just to do some testing. Im looking for some confirmation on my info before I go spray my plots and realize I didnt do something right.

When applying herbicides how wet should the ground be when you are done? If I go over the grass in the yard at 4mph you can just barely feel that there is moisture on the grass. Any faster and you really cant tell.
If I go down the driveway it covers the ground completely at 3mph. If you go down the gravel/tar the surface is covered 100%. Its easily noticable where you were and werent.

Heres a pic of the product that I copied, mine is a little different but this gives an idea.

Ok, so I used the same tips, and a simialer pump.
Im using the #3tips(2) with a pump that runs at 40PSI and 1.8gallons per min. The new sprayers run #3tips(2) with a pump thats adjustable PSI up to 60PSI Max and 2.1gal per min. (They suggest 20-40psi) At the bottom is a chart regarding the tips/sprayer that I got off the manufactures website.

After some searching of this forum I did find some info regarding sprayers and calibrating them. However, I think my chart at the bottom pretty much spells it all out for me.

Is the capacity (GPM) meaning GPM of the tips? And is that per tip, so I have 2 so I x2 for the GPM rate?

Thanks for any info/insight you guys can give me.

If you are applying roundup there just needs to be a light mist on the grass...you do not have to spray enough to make the ground wet since it is a contact killer anyways. Roundup on the ground does nothing. Basically a 25-gallon sprayer with 1-gallon of roundup should do 2 acres so go over it as many times as needed till it's out.

So does that 1-gallon of roundup mean 1gallon of water+roundup or 1gal of constrate and 24gallons water. I havent looked to confirm it but for some reason: 1-2quarts per 20gal water per acre, is what I thought it was suposed to be.

You want a 2 percent solution especially for fescue for burn down and 1 percent for maintenance, so if you want to do a test run at a certain speed on a measured out acre you will know exactly how many gallons of water you will use.

I got a great kill on mine using 25 gallons and it was about 2.5 acres, but did not break it down to exact numbers...when in doubt I add extra roundup to make sure since 1-2 acres is not going to break the bank to put some extra on. If you have a 2 percent solution and it is misted well you will get a great kill.

2 quarts to 25 gallons is a 2 percent solution, but I used about a gallon for that so I was at 4% or enough for 2 acres.
