Looking for a sprayer for the back of my ranger and planning on going with a Fimco. Are there any better ones you would recommend?

I am going to be plotting mostly in open pasture areas, so planning on going with a model with booms. Is that the route you would go? Anyone have a boomles model?

I don't know if it's better or worse than the Fimco, but I have a 26 gal North Star (from Northern Tool) that I use in the back of my Gator. Maybe I'm just lucky, but have had it for at least 10 years with no serious problems. It gets used fairly heavily for food plots as well as CRP maintenance spraying. I have a boom kit on mine but will likely try a boom-less broadcast style if I ever wear this thing out. In taller CRP I think the boomless version would be handy. Only wish I could get a 50 or 60 gallon model or auxiliary tank for more capacity.

How much ground are you able to cover with a your 26 gal tank full of glyphosate mix? I know what you "should" be able to cover, but what is practical?

Fimco is all cheap junk IMO but it can work. Just have plenty of replacement parts (say like most cheap plastic stuff) & don't run stuff like atrazine thru the pumps. I'd look into sprayer specialties & compare but the cheap fimco may get it done when it's working.

Have the North Star one as well. About 5 years old now with zero issues. I have the boomless nozzles on mine and love em. What sold me on this one was the pump has much more GPM than other similar setups. Does about 1 1/2 acre on a tank.

I have one purchased from sprayer specialties in grimes with boom less nozzles. Zero issues in 8 years. Can't go wrong.

I would stay away from FIMCO, also calibrate your sprayer. This will tell you how much ground you can cover in one tank.

The skid sprayer from Sprayer Specialties is top notch and I haven't found anything even close in features. They are pricey but are made more like my big sprayer.
Bigger Tank
Bigger Pump
Adjustable Pressure
Recirculation
3 way nozzle
Lots Of quick tach hose ends and parts
( I also have a 1250 gallon one with 60' boom that they built)
