Spring plots

Here are some photos of plots I checked today.

First is a clover plot planted in the fall of 2010. I really failed to maintain the plot and it got overgrown in 2011 due to lack of timely and adequate mowings. Mowed it down in Jan's mild weather and frost seeded it in Feb before a 2-3 inch snow. Looks to be making a good recovery.

One of two Buck Oats plots that appear to have carried over from last fall's dismal (dry) planting. What should a guy do with carryover Oats like these ??

Your clover plot looks good, I am getting everything ready for mine, but now we have rain in the forecast for a week or so, which will extend me by a few weeks now.

I decided to try the pheasants forever mix, it has (2) types of clover, alfalfa, and some switch grass.
I hope I got lucky, I sprayed early, limed, disked, harrowed, planted, and packed last weekend. Fertilized this week.

The rains are here so now I will just cross my fingers.
