Stealth MC1-D Scouting Cameras

I would really like to get into using trail cameras as a scouting tool. I am on operating with limited funds. I was wondering what your opinions are on the Stealth MC1-D Scouting Cameras. It looks as though this is a step up from the original stealths with a 90 foot range for the flash versus 30 feet from the originals. Anybody with opinions?

At 90 ft. the object in the photo is so small anyway it doesn't really make any difference. The best photos are taken at 10 to 30 feet. There are folks that think the world of there Stealthcam's and if they like them, so be it.
The truth of the matter is it's still a Stealthcam. Maybe they have been improved but with all the troubles with the first ones I can't honestly reccomend them. Just my opinion.

I've got a stealth cam and have never had any problems with it. what type of problems are you referring to?????????

Build your own. Do a Google for homebrew trailcams, there are some good sites that step you through it. I've built three digital trailcams all for under $200 by buying used cameras off Ebay. 35mm cameras can be built for less than $100.

It's not that hard and it's fun. Let me know if that is something you are interested in and I can point you in the right direction.

Howatt, I'm happy that you have one that works. The customers I've spoken with tell me everything from it plain doesn't work to the film didn't rewind and they exposed the film. Other problems as well. When they work they are a great unit. It's just the folks I talk with aren't happy with them.
