Steve Snows Bucks?

On Kisky.com thier is talk of Steve Snow killing two monster Iowa bucks in the last month or so, Ive seen pic's of the first that grossed 204", The second one is supposed to be bigger,,, anyone seen pics yet? im dieing to see this thing......Steve Snow is the man!

There was talk of his first one. They got it on film but not really. The novice camera operater didnt know how to adjust for fading light and he shot it too late for normal camera operation.

I hope he got the second one on film.

Dean

His second one was in the 180's. Per a conversation I had with a friend that works at HS. But Kisky says 204 gross... either way WOW!

Congrats to Mr. Snow, He is a awesome guy who just happened to be in the right spot to get a job like that. Couldnt of happened to a better guy

If this is the farm I seen him on the other day, this a farm he and a friend just recently purchased and I had the opportunity to hunt it last year late M/L with the guy that leased it for farming purposes and did a little hunting and my oh my this doesnt suprise me that he killed 2 nice ones already off this farm.

I am sure you will see more video of nice deer taken off this farm in the next couple weeks.

I know that he killed the buck that grossed 204" with out a camera. He was out scouting and the buck walked in at 10 yards or so. They had this buck on tape in velvet. This is from on of my buddies who is a prostaff for HS. I have not heard of the other buck yet. There is no doubt that Steve has some awesome deer. Every year there are a couple of hunts on the Primetime video from him. Have you all seen where Stan Hansen misses 2 monsters and the shoots a dandy all on Steve's farm. But the one he kills is nothing compared to the other 2.

I am assuming that one buck was early muzzle and the other bow? or does he operate like a majority of HS pro staff- ie shooting as many monsters as possible and worry about tagging later. The stuff that IDNR lets HS gets away with is sickening.

Steve Snow is one of the guys I really enjoy watching! Congrats to him. Looking forward to seeing some pics or video!!

Johnson,

It is not just HS they let get away with stuff. I know of several others who seem to kill several big deer a year in Iowa. I would say that Steve probably gets a Landowner Tag and a regualr bow tag since he does own his farm. I am not sure.

Both with Bow.
From what we are hearing 214" was his first
204" was his second.

Both gross scores.

(Side note: if it is the land I used to hunt on it is his land, dont forget about land owner tags) Dont know if that is true but I know they were both with bow.

Type of guy Steve is I dont see him operating like that. JMHO

I didn't mean to accuse Steve as I have only heard good things about him. But there are other high profile individuals who harvest multiple bruisers each year. I have heard of one individual who harvested 4 170 plus deer and then sends around pictures of it. Come on now.

Im not saying that you did but I am saying that it is possible. Dont know what to tell you about the 4 170"ers. I could see 3 plus 1 for a urban hunt I guess. So its possible.

JohnsonCo - do you have any facts to go with your accusations about HS Pro Staffers?

Say what you will about whether you like them or not, but I think it is incredibly irresponsible to cast wild statements like that about unless you have some basis in fact.

Just as an FYI... Iowa resident landowners can get a regular statewide anysex bow tag and then also use their 1 landowner tag to get a second anysex, but restricted to their farm, archery tag. In other words, there is potentially a perfectly legitimate explanation to someone harvesting two bucks with a bow each year, provided they are a landowner, etc.

They can then get a third buck with a gun tag. (And this does not even take into account the potential to "party hunt" in the shotgun seasons and potentially take multiple bucks that someone else in the party is willing to tag.)

So be sure of your information before making accusations on the internet.

And state parks now as well... if you get drawn for a tag. I agree with the above, if you don't have any proof, don't go throwing accusations out there.

I have heard a lot of ridiculous untrue rumors too but I wouldn't post them here, unless I wanted to look kinda foolish.

If that actually happend I am pretty sure we would all hear about it.

I know 3 of the HS prostaff personally and consider them good friends. I am actually hunting with one of them opening weekend of Missouri rifle season. They are all very good people. There are so many ways to get extra tags. I know jay Gregory gets a tag every year because he owns land here. There are also tourism tags that the state department hands out to people they want to visit Iowa. Plus all the other ways mentioned above. I would respectfully ask that if you think these guys are doing things illegal then you can contact them all through www.hunterspecs.com

Just for the record, I dindt start this thread to raise suspission, Ive always been a big fan of Steve Snow since the first Whitetail Extreme, And i would love to meet him, I just want to see the bucks!

I have an update on Steves bucks. He killed one that measured 217" early Oct. that one was with out a camera. He did kill a 204" named Mr. Nasty that was on his new farm It was the first time he had hunted it. It was filmed by Phillip Vanderpool it will air on Driven 24/7 in the future. This was all from Mr. Vanderpool his self I just talked to him this afternoon.
