Still out there.

The first time I seen this deer was early 2008. We got a few pictures of him using a fenceline in early October. Never seen him again that year but managed to scoop up his sheds this past spring. He was a 3 1/2 year old 145-150" ten point. Real symmetrical, pretty deer.

Never managed to get him on camera or see him from the field all year this year. I hung a camera near a creek crossing in late December. It was a heavy trail as there was 35 acres of standing corn on the other side of the creek. Pulled the cam late last week and wouldn't you know it he's still around. He really put on the inches last summer. Now he's a 6 x 6 with a split G-2. I think I'll spend a little more time locating and hunting him next fall. He should be something special...

i bet he makes a pretty big jump next year as well, he looks to be pretty young to me, so his biggest growth may be coming

We got pics of him a couple weeks ago still packing. He's been eluding us since. Another buck that's been hanging with him was still packing last week. With the recent snow I'm thinking I'll just wait til it starts to go again. The pics are by 40 acres of standing corn so I'm hoping both sides are in there waiting...

Shed update

About a month ago a couple buddies of mine found the right side of this deer. We spend the next week looking hard for the other side but couldn't get it done. My buddy called the neighbor and told him to look on his ground. The next day we got a call and 20 minutes into his search and the other side was recovered.

He turned out to be bigger than we thought and should be a giant next year. He put on roughly 30" this past year and went from a upper 140's class buck to a mid 170's class buck. Right side went 78" and some change and the left went 73" and some change with a broken brow.

Thought I'd share what some deer are capable of doing in a year. He put on a ton of mass and I can't wait to see what he turns out to be this summer.
