Storm Shelters

Hey guys, wondering if anyone has any experience/knowledge on storm shelters. Thinking about the units that they bolt to a concrete slab, either in a basement or garage. We don't have a basement, so would have to go in the attached garage. Not as good for a safe room as something in the house in the case of a break in or whatever, but would possibly be better than nothing for a storm. We do have a 3 1/2-4' crawl space.

Not sure what all converting a room inside into a safe room would entail, but guessing a stand alone unit would be easier/cheaper?

Just heard about some one at my mothers work who built an 8ft by 8ft concrete storm shelter and they also use it as a safe. I'll see if I can get more info.
