hey guys here is the story....again many thanks nick. gun season is wis is crazy. kinda like the shotgun season in Iowa ive heard. we have 700,000 hunters and half shouldnt be in the woods. anyway my gun season was going really slow, i dont get that excited about gun hunting but love to hunt with my family and they all gun hunt so i hunt with them at our cabin here in northern wis, the little guy in the pic is my couisin who was in his first season, he got his first buck the same nite i got this one. anyway we had decided to make a little sneak push through, (again public land)near out cabin. the swamp behind me in the pics is really thick. ive went into it with bow and know that most hunters wont walk through it. we usually wait until close to the end of season and make a push through it. we did it this day, 11/24. i got to sit cuz i hadnt filled my gun tag and about midway thorough the push i heard some stuff cracking in the swamp. a short time later i saw flashes of a deer and i thought it was a doe. i was watching him through my scope when i saw a flash of horn when he went through a small opening. he turned at that point and came out of the swamp inot a select cut area where i was sitting and i thought i was gonna have a chip shot. instead i lost him and almost had a heart attack when i saw him going slightly away from me on the run. i dont know to this day what scared him but he was on the move. i held for a opening in front of him and when he went though i shot. wonder of wonders i missed. i always miss the first shot with gun for some reason. but again after the shot he stopped to see where the shot came from and i smoked him on the second shot. he dropped in his tracks...i was tickled...this has truly been the best year that i ahve had and meeting all you guys in here has been great, i only wish i had found this site sooner..i will be back in Iowa in three years God willing.i hope to have some really solid friendships by that time and would like to meet up...well for now think turkeys........and again thanks Iowa guys for making this NR feel at home in your great state. string leech. you all are welcome to come up to wisconsin for some fishing this winter...ill hook you up
