STS string serving ??

My new (used) bow came with an STS on it. I have read some comments about needing to have a serving on the string contact point for the STS. Is that necessary or not because my string does not have any serving on the contact point at this time.

very necessary. It wont take long for your string to start seperating if you don't have it served where it makes contact with the STS.

Not sure how necessary it is but it sure wouldn't hurt anything. I would go ahead and put a little serving right where it contacts. No need to go over board. Just my .02

I agree 100%. Without the serving, wear to the string will happen.
