Nothing huge but I managed to tag a big slickhead in the last 30 minutes of season. My dad died last year on the 21st of Jan And I put her down on the 19th with Dads old lever action 30/30. It was especially great because I got to hunt on dbltree ranch. Paul sent me encouraging PMs and emails in the months after my Dads death, those words and this hospitality was greatly appreciated.

Nice job! I love that gun. It's a Marlin 336, isn't it?
There's always something special about using firearms passed down from important family members to take game.
Thank you for posting it.

Some of the most memorable hunts have little or nothing to do with big antlers. Well done & a pile of great groceries to boot. Congrats!

I have the same gun. Every year my buddy has an open site 30/30 doe hunt on his farm. Lots of fun and a challenge.

It's real special when you get a chance to use a family heirloom (I'm confident the 30/30 is or will be an heirloom) is a sport you love. Enjoy the memories.

Frame that pic and hang it in your man cave...it'll be a special memory for years to come...congrats!!
