The Hunt Never Ends....
Well guys, It's only 11 more days until 2 of my buddies and I head down to Alabama to hunt some gobblers! I am pumped up, and I also get to miss a week of school. Last week I bought new camo and a pair of hunting boots. We are going to start hunting March 15th and our last day will be March 17th. The farm we are hunting has a ton of turkeys also, and my uncle said they are already gobbling, so that's a good thing. I just hope the weather turns out to be good. Well anyways, i'll post what happens and hopefully show you a pic of three big gobblers! Wish Me Luck!

Thanks,
Sureshot1.

Good Luck Chris on your Alabama turkey hunt.

We will be patiently waiting for the story and photos.

Best of luck to you! I'm counting the days until turkey season. I guess that the rest of us will have to live vicariously through you until then. Be sure to let us know how your hunt went!

Well i'm just getting ready to leave. I should be on the road w/ my friends in a couple of hours. Hopefully on Wednesday morning i'll be sitting in the timber with Gobblin' Toms all around me. I'll post the results of the hunt on next monday when I get back!

Dirty, no good, rotten,...

I am jealous, I have another two weeks to wait yet! Good luck and take a lot of pictures of everything to post when you get back.

I am going to work and he is sitting out there looking at a dead turkey by now. I hope we see picture soon.

Well guys, i'm back! I had a great time down in Alabama, but sad to say I didn't get a bird. My friend, Blake, shot a jake on the last day we were there. We arrived in Alabama on Tuesday and the temp was in the upper 60's. Well we woke up Wednesday morning to rain and temps in the upper 30's! On Wednesday morning I sat up in the corner of an alfalfa field and didn't hear a gobble, then suddenly some turkeys flew in the field, then more, and more, and more! I lost track at 45. I am estimating that there were around 80-90 birds in the field. It is the most birds I have ever seen at one time, but they wouldnt respond to any calls. The next morning after not hearing any gobbles we decided that we would basically have to hunt these turkeys like deer. (sit and wait, call once in awhile). Two toms came into the field after sitting for 5 1/2 hours straight but they presented me with a 50 yard shot which I was not comfortable taking. The rest of the week was pretty much the same with a lot of close calls(birds just out of range). On the final morning we were there the temp reached 65 degrees, and the turkeys gobbled like crazy, but still no luck. All and all I had a great time, met some really awesome people, and even though I didnt harvest a bird it's a trip i'll never forget. Hopefully i'll be able to go back next year.

-I would post some pictures of the trip but my computer won't upload pictures so i'll send them to someone and have them upload them for me on here.

Sorry to hear that ya didn't get a bird but glad to hear it was a good trip.

Sorry to hear about the uncooperating weather. I would have liked to see all those birds in that field. That would have made my trip.
