Tonight I went for a short drive between 8:45 and 9:30. Saw two deer that got my attention. First was a buck with beam ends outside his ears and brows which appeared to be about 4-5 inches already. Second was a buck which was again (1) ear width, (2) had turned forward with his beams by about 5 inches and (3) sported two upright tines of 3-4 inches as well as brows !!! Although the buck was joggin away from my Nikon spotting scope, I still got a fairly good look at this second buck and was surprised with the forward beam growth and upright tines on June 13th. I guess it is time to start the evening drives more frequently from now on.
