<span style="color: #FF0000"> The Rally is on!
IMPORTANT UPDATE --The Rally is still on, and the good news is that appears very likely that the Iowa House plans to debate HJR 1 on the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 17. Therefore, instead of going to the Wallace Auditorium at 9 AM on Tuesday, please head directly the second floor rotunda area of the Capitol. From there, we will ask you to (1) make contact with your House member urging them to support HJR 1, and (2) pack the galleries in a show of support for the constitutional amendment.
The plan is to debate the bill first thing that morning, so please try and be at the Capitol by 9 AM-and even earlier if that is possible. Predicting the exact time debate will start is not possible to project, but the sooner you can get, the better.
Your support and presence at the Capitol on Tuesday, the 17th is now more important than ever!!

RALLY DAY - TUESDAY - 2/17/09
Arrangements have been made for everyone to meet at the Wallace Bldg. Auditorium (just north of the statehouse) on Tuesday February 17th. at 10 a.m. The auditorium is reserved for our use 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. This will be our "staging" area. We will have some speakers before we head to the capitol. I anticipate two or three legislators will be there to make brief comments and then EVERYONE should go to the capitol to talk to their Senator and Representative to urge them to support the sustainable funding legislation---SJR-1 (senate joint resolution 1) and HJR-1--the wording is the same. I expect that all of the lobbyists for all the supporters will be available to help guide folks on how to contact the legislators at the capitol. Those of you who are more experienced, please help out. Now is the time to start organizing your folks from around the state to attend on Feb. 17th---we need a big turnout.
We need all conservation group chapters from every corner of the state to fill a car, a van, or even an entire bus, and come to Des Moines to support this bill.
