Yesterday and today Scheels in DSM is hosting an outdoor days celebration. They have set up several tents in their parking lot and filled them with pro staffers and their products. The products are discounted and they also have some clearance stuff from in the store.
They also invited the IBA to have a booth. Me and another guy, who is even older than I am and who I call Methuselah, staffed the booth. We spent the day sweating and discussing how, when we were younger, and not that much younger, we could work outside all day in weather like this. Baling hay, walking beans, building fence and on and on. Now days kids are soft. Speaking of soft kids, if you are in the DSM Scheels area today stop by, check out the deals and say howdy to the two young softies in the IBA booth. Mention you saw this post and they’ll give you a gift. It is dried sweat we scrapped off the chair I was sitting in yesterday. For an extra good experience sit in the chair, the one with a cracked back and maybe you too can get a case of swamp ass.
It was a good day overall. There was a dog long jump contest that got interrupted several times because some old fart kept jumping in the pool to cool off. I hope the wet dog smell wears off in a day or two. I suppose the smell will wear off about as soon as the puncture wound from the IV I needed for rehydration heals up.
Seriously, if you are in the DSM Shceels area today stop by, join or renew with the IBA and get a $10 Scheels gift card that will make the bargains even more bargainier. Be sure and tell the hooligans in the booth that ‘Bonker sent you for the free gift. The hours yesterday were 10-6 but they may be shorter today. Pussies.
I did have my smart-ish phone with me yesterday and I thought about putting a post up pleaing for anybody that might be in the area to bring me a beer or 12. I thought better of it though because the dog pool was closer than the restrooms and I’da been jumping in the pool to do more than just cool off.
