Switchback????

Guys,.... I have enjoyed this forum because I know that most of you are 'straight shooters' with a few exceptions

.... mostly kidding. I am starting to lean toward the Matthews Switchback as my new bow. I would appreciate some candid feedback by currently Switchback owners (XT or original) regarding any issues that you have had with your bows, concerns, likes or dislikes... I am becoming to realize that this whole Matthews, Hoyt thing is like Ford vs. Chevy....

Anyone had any string problems ie stretch with the Switchback?

I have a switchback and love it. I did have to get my string twisted 2 times. If I was to do it over again I would put on a winners choice string. I have a feeling I will be putting on one in the future.

But I am 100% happy with it and with the service that I have received from the sports shop.

Heck if I were you, you might as well wait to see what matthews comes out with this spring shouldn't be too much longer I wouldn't think. Im not really into all this bow tech. but I think this is the part of the year they start coming out with new boys.

lol told ya im not good with all the new bows lol. is it shorter or longer or whats the the differences in the bows.

My understanding is that the XT has more parallel limbs and is therefore shorter axle to axle... supposedly smoother shooting, but I can't see much difference myself.

Dennis you are gaining brace height which is a plus, the limbs are beyond parallel and the XT is a little smoother. The Switchback last year was having a little touble with cam lean which has been addressed in the newer XT. For me it is down to the XT and the BowTech Tribute however the limb problem that bowtech has had in the past worries me a little.

What about the Trycon Limb...Ghost and I are making the order this week....I could include one more on the order

I will be shooting the Switchback models tommorrow morning.... hopefully after that I can decide between the Tribute or one of these.... I really like the looks of the Trykon, but the Cam cycle is definately harsh... not what I personally want for hunting....

Love my Switchback! Killed my first archery turkey with it and a few deer this year. The new XT looks like an Outback with all the Switchback dampners put on it. A few feet per sec. slower than the original, but shorter ATA. I have had no problem with string stretch on mine and I shoot it ALOT! Good luck!
