Somebody else will chime in but I think its johnson grass. It is in your seed bank lying there waiting. Probably took off when you opened the ground up or sprayed twice. Switchgrass takes time.I would mow your plot so it can get some light.

how do i know what the switchgrass looks like? and this stuff is to tall to mow now i think

All the native grasses take 2-3 years to really "show up". I seeded a 7 acre field 3 years ago. Year 1 looked horrible... Year 2 the native grasses really showed up, especially late in the year... year 3 looks AWESOME and I have a very solid stand of big blue stem, indian, and switch grass.
I burn the field at first signs of green up in the spring. I think the key is burning and/or mowing the field for the first couple years. Good luck.

That's encouraging. I am in year 2 and last year was not pretty.
