Tags go on sale

...and I shall be one of the first in the state to get mine....I've got the local hardware store gal meeting me down there at midnight Saturday. Only 100 doe tags for my county & they were sold out before noon Sunday last year and I gots to have one!! :drink2:

Awesome, Aug 15th always feels like bow season is close.... maybe like the superbowl pregame show is starting.... it will be a while but the start is coming!

Does anyone recall when the early season muzzleloader tags ran dry last year, I was thinking it only took a day or two???

i heard the main reason they did that is because PETA (People Eating Tasty Animals) were buying them out so hunters wouldn't be able to kill as many does in a season! Is this true or just another rumor??

Early ML should last a few days at this rate. 5239 left when I got mine just a few minutes ago.

Thanks JNRBRONC!
Glad I got my Plymouth county doe tag when I did. There were 4 of us at the local hardware store at midnight- mine printed at 12:04 and there were already 10 sold. The last one of us got theirs about 12:15 and there were only 54 left and I see they've sold out now (100 quota).
Almost half of the early muzzy tags are sold out too in less than 24 hours....if anyone is wanting one and hasn't got it yet, better not wait too long!

Too bad the media doesn't cover waiting in line at midnight for doe tags like they do the newest video game.

Also, are we supposed to carry that tag you had to sign saying you read the back of the tag and understood it? By the end of the season I could have a bunch of those in my pack. Seems kinda silly to me. I asked the young lady who sold me my allotment of tags today (2) about them and her reply was they wanted to make them waterproof. As if those paper/fiber/plastic ones aren't.

As if those paper/fiber/plastic ones aren't

Years ago I helped a guy milk cows one winter. We would throw the milk filters in the gutter but alot of times the cats would drag them out and eat em. The next day when the cats would squat to crap thier eyes looked like they would pop out of thier head they were pushin so hard.

I dodn't know what they make the old tags out of but that's what I felt like a couple years ago when I had to eat my tag.........

If you already have one doe tag bought when are you aloowed to buy more, is it Sept. 15th or Oct. 1st or when?

I thought it was Sept. 15 but didn't see any mention at the DNR website.

Between the two counties I hunt there are 3,300 tags, so I'm not too worried about them running out.

Shoot, I haven't even bought a tag yet.
