Sound familiar? Same bill as last year. It didn't funnel, in other words no action was taken, the subcommittee didn't meet and it was put on hold. I wondered if it would be brought back and it was.

Subcommittee has been assigned with Ms. Thede as the new member:

Representative Terry Baxter, District 8 (Hancock, Wright and parts of Kossuth Counties) Email: Terry.Baxter@legis.iowa.gov Legislative page: https://www.legis.iowa.gov/legislators/legislator?ga=88&personID=13796

Representative Anne Osmundson, District 56 (Allamakee and most of Clayton County) Email: Anne.Osmundson@legis.iowa.gov Legislative page: https://www.legis.iowa.gov/legislators/legislator?ga=88&personID=27029

Representative Phyllis Thede, District 93 (Scott County, Davenport and Bettendorf) Email: phyllis.thede@legis.iowa.gov Legislative page: https://www.legis.iowa.gov/legislators/legislator?ga=88&personID=6577

Why didn’t this get a vote?... same Bill this year?

Same as last year's bill.

In Iowa the legislative session is considered 2 years (or one election cycle in the House) anything that didn't have any action, not withdrawn, voted down or vetoed can be brought back the next year if it is in its same form without changes. In the case of this particular bill I don't see where the subcommittee ever met which must make it eligible for this year's half of the two year session.

That is my understanding only, I'm still trying to figure it out. I purged all of my lists from last year and I'm in the process of figuring out which bills have been resurrected.

Anyone think this one has a chance, guessing “no”.

I don't have an answer to your question other than "maybe". I'm trying to read the coffee grounds, divine the tea leaves, gaze into the crystal ball, read the tarot cards, consult the Ouija board, and ask the Magic 8 Ball. Not only about this bill but several others that have been introduced and either not assigned a sub or have one assigned but without a meeting date and time. Perhaps it is nothing more than "it's early" but there are bills that have passed full committees already, none of them hunting related.

I regards to this bill in particular, this is the same spot it got to last year, sub assigned but no meeting.
