Wow! The wonders of the internet. I had no idea that picture would travel like that. Friend of a friend shot that buck in western kansas. The guy in the picture was actually after the buck that deposited the antler in that deer's neck. He'd been after it a for quite a while and had it right under his stand the day before he shot the buck in the picture. When it came under him it'd already had it's beam busted off in a fight with, obviously, the buck pictured. They still aren't sure how the antler ended up in the buck's neck. He's planning on mounting the buck with the antler in place.
One more thing, I was told he didn't know about the odd antler until he came up on the buck on the ground after the shot.
