Well it is here again, Tax Season!! For some its great and for others they dred this time of year...For me this is the time of year my wife gives me the green light to buy whatever I want!!

So whats everyone going to pick up for the upcoming season? Or if not hunting related but cool anyway, whatcha getting?

Ill start off; Im going to be buying a new hunting outfit and maybe a new bow(maybe):D

Fruit trees, seems like instead of learning to share, just need to grow too much for the wildlife and me. I like the thought of climbing up in the tree, eating a chunk out of an apple and throwing it out of the tree like a spoiled monkey.

I will be saving it as my wife and I are planning to be building a new house this spring/summer. So we are saving everything we can right now. Once the house is done though I might be going for a new gun safe. Don't currently have one and the little safe for my important papers is getting too small.

Working on finishing our basement, so any tax return $ will go towards that. Luckily for me, part of that process is upgrading the gun safe for future kids. I am thinking about having it recessed into the wall.

Thankfully I shouldn't be getting much of a refund, and have avoided giving the govt. a loan with negative interest. If I were to happen to get any money back, it will go to paying extra on any loan.

Far too many people don't have a clue as to what you just said. But, it would serve them well to find out.

No point in overpaying taxes when you could have that money working for you instead of the government.

Vexilar FL20, new Scotty C putter and going on a cruise with the GF and a bunch other friends in March!

That assumes first that people would have the discipline to save that little bit extra every pay period (most people don't) and also that they would invest money in some way that it would make a noticeable amount of money.

I prefer a refund because we generally use the money for something special not pay down bills. We also do flex withholding for both medical and dependent care and don't turn in receipts till the end of the year so we get a fairly decent amount each year.

Auto deduct into an interest earning account is pretty simple. That way you never put your hands on it. Why not have more money each year for that something special rather than pay the government to watch your zero return "savings" account? This year would have made you double digits in return. Just a thought that could make you some money.

Taking advantage of the flex accounts is really smart. They are a great tax saving benefit.
