The following statement is by Howard Vincent, CEO PF, Inc. I copied it from a PF banquet booklet. Thought you might like to know what just one of many conservation groups is doing for us here in Iowa.
"It was just another good year for Iowa's Pheasants Forever chapters in 2001-another banner $2 million habitat year! Last year, the average Iowa chapter spent $20,000 on conservation projects. These local committees, comprised of people who care about wildlife, again invested over $2 million this year across Iowa on conservation projects for you and for generations to come. It wasn't a small undertaking. They established 1,865 food plots, created 67,827 acres of nesting cover, planted 694,291 trees, helped public agencies purchase 26 public wildlife management areas, and much, much more. And, they did it with an enthusiasm that is unparalleled in the conservation community."
Way to go PF and all the good people who attended the banquets and especially to the local committees who did all the ground work! If you like wildlife it almost always comes down to the same thing - HABITAT!
