That was a cold bowhunt!

I sat in a stand today from sunrise until 10:30 then again from 12 to dark. Spent the day in a cedar thicket. WOW that was a long, cold day! I saw absolutely nothing until 4pm. Just a handful of fawns and one doe. I think that was the coldest bowhunt from a treestand i've ever done. I've done it during muzzleloader season but not with a bow. I'll be out again tomorrow.

Although I was not out hunting today, it was definitely cold today. With this cold of weather now, I wonder if it would be a good idea to find a southern slope or sunny CRP field v. a cedar thicket?

Good luck tomorrow, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but going by the forecast it isn't going to be any warmer tomorrow!

This cold seemed to turn on the action 10 fold in my area. Cut corn fields are full in the evenings Today was cold though- wind sucks

I hear exactly what your saying. Last week we were in the first wave of temps in the mid teens and wind of 15-25mph. It was the coldest weather I have ever hunted and not saying a whole lot since I'm from Louisiana but hearing yall say that makes me feel better leaving the stand at 11am to warm up. The wind was bitter cold and would cut right through you. We did see a lot of deer which made the cold much better.

We hunt like this in Minnesota quite often

Not bragging actually it's very tough to shoot a deer hunting n these conditions. Stands pop, deer are edgy! Clothes and old makes it tough to draw bow.

It's a real accomplishment if you shoot a deer when it's this cold!!
