The Grunt snort weeze call.

Have any of you guys done this or the grunt snort? What situations would you use it? And what game call company makes makes a call that does both of these sounds... Primos, H.S????

MAD calls makes one that works fine but you can do it with your mouth just as effectivly. I use it with a decoy a lot and have great success with it. I also use it prior to and after a rattling sequence or when a buck hangs up on the way in for rattling. Make sure you only use it on dominant bucks for the most part. Subordinates do not respond well and will often "get the heck out of Dodge" when they hear it, even 3.5-4.5 year olds so choose you opponet wisely.......

i concur with shredder. small bucks do not come into the snort wheeze very often. i've never had it work at all for me. i have seen the MAD call and basically it's just a grunt tube with no reed. don't waste your money, just do it with your own breath. make a sound like a deer "blowing" at you.

I've watched bucks do it in the wild more than once.

When I've seen it, it's only older (likely dominant) bucks responding to some stimuli that's challenging their status. (like dominant buck urine I placed around stand) or another buck that's not backing down.

If you are huntin' a dominant buck, try it. Otherwise, as shredder advises, you probably shouldn't use it.

I have the Mad snortwheeze call, It works great!Concurring with the other guys it only works on the big boys. I used it Friday night on 150 class buck. He was walking away from me at about 150 yds. I blew the call and he turned on a dime to come back and check it out. Everytime I have used it, it works you have to be selective when you use it.
