Did anyone listen to the Iowa Sportsman Radio Show last night on 98.3 WOW? It was a good show. They had an interesting trivia question last night about the State Record Whitetail taken with a Shotgun. Who, The Score, and What year. Does anyone know the answer?

Wayne Bills 201 something /8, shotgun, hamilton county in maybe 1974. That's the jist off the top of my head on him.

isnt the bills buck from WI? maybe not, i thought it was
did anybody hear the radio show?

I guess your right the IA book has the bills buck at 199 while the B&C book has him at 201.

Still the best shotgun Typ. in my opinion especially if he hadn't busted off part of his bro tine,then he definately would have been tops.
 
Where does the Lovstuen Buck come in and rank in any of these catagories. Why is not listed on the DNR Website as one of the top animals harvested?
 
I did a google image search for the Wayne Bills buck and came up with this web page. The mouse feature didn't want to work with Mozilla as a browser but did okay with IE. Pretty cool site! Sorry for the potential hijack, Carry on!

The lovsteun buck is theworld record whitetail taken with any weapon..but not the biggest ever. didnt the minnesota monarch or the hole in the horn score like 333 or somethin?
 
Im not sure.. but the Lovstuen buck i thot was thot to be illegally taken... becuz the boy was at a school practice of sum sort when the buck was reported shot (and it was youth season i believe)... but i guess theres a billion other rumors out there... dont listen to me! haha
