The latest in arrow rests

At the shot show they had this new arrow rest that there is NO arrow contact at all. It had 3 magnets that when you draw you bow these magnet pick up on your insert and centers your arrow in midair. They say you can use a steel insert but most of the time your broadhead threads will work just fine. I have tryed to fine a web site but have not had anyluck yet. I forgot what the name of the rest was. Just looked pretty interesting....Has anyone else heard of it yet...

Well lookie there Teeroy, that new fangled rest is ridin' a ROSS.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't that rest be classified as an "Air Suspension"?

That looks very interesting. I like the total arrow capture and it looks strong too. One the down side it they say you need to load the arrow from the front, which sounds pretty awkward. Anybody used one yet?

Pricey though, $150 plus $20 for 6 inserts. Yikes!

I like the concept, BUT, what happens when you are hunting a really windy day. Is the magnet strong enough to hold the arrow in place and secondly, would the magnets slow down arrow velocity right out of the gates? Just some thoughts I had about this rest.

how about if you aren't the most steady? i can't help but think that as your arm was moving, the arrow would be moving even more

looks neat, but i'll stick with the good ol' zero effect

What happened is your magnetic field switched or your were closer to the North pole. Would that have an adverse effect on it. OR something else medal that would be stealing your magnetic field away from your insert.

It looks to be pretty sound from a physics standpoint. The magnets should have no affect on arrow speed. I can't say whether if you had a strong magnet somewhere close that it wouldn't have an impact, but I can't imagine toting around a powerful magnet would be normal? Just my 2 cents.

We tested the Air rest... and all i can say about it is this... it's a great novelty item to try... I would NEVER put it on any bow I own... it simply doesn't work. Stick with the drop-away... or dare I say, the Whisker.

I got to thinking about this some more and arent most inserts and broadheads made of aluminum? And correct if i am wrong physics people but aluminum isnt magnetic correct? Sounds like me that it would almost be quicker and cheaper to buy a drop away!?
