Welcome and great screen name. I spent the whole day walking the woods looking for that which we obsess over. I am tired and have nothing to show for it. Sooner or later we'll find our first of the year and get the ball rolling.

Horncrazy,

How's it goin. Doubt there's any deer up in that Maq. river drainage huh.

I rat around the river up there for smallies in the summer. Always wondered how the hunt'n was in that area. Good looking country.

Yeh, can't wait to get started looking, I am going to head out in the morning. Don't know if I'll find anything, but also enjoy looking. I have a 6 year old who found his first shed last year and has the same itch to start again this year...Let you know if I find anything...take care.

Nice to meet you. Can't wait to get out there and start looking. Had to work today but hope to try and get out in the morning for the first time this year. Been reading the post and it sounds like it's a little early, but will try anyway. Ya never know...

Yeh, I've caught several nice smallies in there myself. Biggest was 23 inches. You should try for some walleye, they have really started to come on. Done my fair share of hunting the bluffs around Picture Rocks, I've seen some dandies...talk to ya again.
