The really late RUT

How many of you are seeing Rut activity during your post season scouting and shed hunting trips?

A few weeks ago I watched a young buck that had already lost his left antler chasing a doe, grunting etc. I also ran across a few fresh rubs in early March (see attached picture).

Let's here your stories . . .

OneCam, I shared this with you yesterday but for everyone else I saw a deer last weekend mounting a doe. But he did not have any antlers. Would a buck that shed his antlers do this? Button buck? What are your thoughts or knowledge about this. Last year I had a typical 14 run very close to me chasing a doe at this same location. This was at the end of April!

Nothing for certain. This is what happened, I was shed hunting and kicked a very large group of deer out of a willow thicket. Does, bucks with both sides, singles, and certainly bucks without. I thought all had left but thirty seconds later these two came out. The lead deer stopped looked back at me and the last deer mounted it. Like it was taking advantage of this situation. It had the buck look. But I could not positively tell you it was a buck. But could guarntee what I seen last year. Your picture is hard to make out. are you D.K.? I came from the area.
