hi guys, thought i would tell you what happened to my poor aunt this morning. shes been trying to hunt turkeys the last 2-3 years hunting but hasn't got the chance at a bird yet. well this morning she finally got her chance, she had a big tom come in her field about 40 yards out. she pulled up and aimed and it dropped but was still flapping, so since it was still moving she unloaded her gun on it and ended up shooting it 5 times. she was very very excited while reloading her gun to make sure it was down for the count. Then it took a turn for the worse, she heard a shot, looking in disbelief a hunter jumps the fence, runs the 15-20 yards in her field grabs the flapping bird and runs back and hops the fence. she couldnt believe what just happened as she was running towards the hunter calling him every name in the book trying to get him to confront her. but he never did stop and probably a good thing or my aunt would of let him have it

SO i guess it just shows anything can happen even on your own land

what would you guys do if that happened to you? i would probably figure out who shot it, and maybe see if the dnr could confront him on trespassing or something

Yeah my dad called me and told me that this morning I couldnt believe it. she was mad enough where she is going to every landowner that borders theirs and asking who hunts there and if anyone got a turkey in the morning. She tried to catch the guy, and was yelling at him fiercely every name in the book, but she didnt really want to chase down a man she doesnt know, never know what they may do

Kat she is petitie, if her husband would of been with her, i dont think that guy would of done it, because my uncle would of caught him real fast and there would have been words. so who knows just sucks she finally got one in all on her own and it had to turn out that way

Thats just unreal. Who would want somebody elses turkey in the first place? The guy must of had a real set on him cause how did he know your aunt wasnt nuts to. She could of just pulled up and took his legs out. Just when you hear it all, somebody is always able to step it up to a new level of dirt bag.

i'm speechless on this one...i've heard of this with deer but not some stupid turkey. all i know for sure is that as roscoe p coltraine puts it, i would've been in "hot pursuit" on that dude.

while we're on the subject of filthy thieves...

just got home from my sisters college graduation to find that someone stole the flagpole set up out of the front of my dad's truck. now the really retarded thing is they only took the pole...they didn't take the pulleys, the rope, or any of the other hardware. i can't believe some people anymore. problem being is that if you actually catch some fricking idiot doing that and you give them the ensuing beat down that they deserve you'll be the one going to jail.

Sit back for just a minute and remember this is Iowa. Every now and then something stupid happens, but for the most part we got it pretty good. In the rural parts anyway. At least we don't have iron bars on our windows and doors.

I met a guy last fall from near Detroit that owns 250 of timber. He says his biggest problem is keeping people off his property. We were talking about crime and hoodlums and I kept thing how good we had things here compared to alot of places..........

That is some insane stuff. What a jerk! If I'd been in that situation, I think I would have been tempted to put a load of No. 5s about 10 feet out in front of the guy just to get his attention and tell him to either drop the bird or the next shot will be right on the money!

Unreal! That jerk is probably telling a fabricated story to his hunting buddies about how he skillfully harested his turkey. What a punk!
