The wife made an attempt

She bought me a Wildview for Christmas. A+ for effort. I picked up a card reader so I don't have to remove the camera to check it. She bought a monster 1GB SD disk for me, it's not a brand listed in the book and 512MB is listed as the biggest, Can I safely use it or should I return it for two smaller cards?????

It shouldn't hurt anything using a memory card larger than they recommend.

Brand doesn't matter as long as it is the same style media (SD, XD, compact flash, etc.).

I have two SD for my trail cam and have never even come close to filling the 128Mb with images, so you might be better off with a couple of smaller ones. I just swap them out when I change batteries. Battery life seems to be the limiting factor versus memory. Then again, I can't let the camera go a week without checking it!

Larger cards may slow the camera down a bit. Compare it if you have a smaller card handy. So the smaller, the better.

If the instructing state 512 as the largest I would not exceed 512. Large cards can mess camera operation up. The sony P32 does not take larger cards. CI's idea of having two so you can switch one for the other when checking your camera is the only way to go IMO.

Thanks for the replies. I was going to pick up another card so I could switch anyhow. Normally wouldn't be an issue, a 2 for 1 swap, but all those wally world specials are same price, memory doesn't matter. Thanks again. Gonna be real nice being able to leave it for a week or two and not have to run to get film developed so often. Ive seen the wildviews in action, not the best but hey, beggers can't be chosers.

I would return it for two smaller so you can put one in the camera and rotate cards when you check the camera.
