The wife needs a bow!

I'm looking to buy my wife a bow so she can start bowhunting with me when we return to the midwest this summer. She has rifle hunted deer in North Dakota, but I hope to instill the bowhunting obsession into her! She sat with me 3 years ago for 3 mornings and she still talks about how cool it was to wake up with the woods. I can't wait to be there for her first archery kill.
Can I hear your thoughts for a good womens bow?

I shoot a Matthews UltraMax, but it's a few years old. The best bet would be to take her to a good pro shop and have her try out a bunch to see which one she likes best.

i'm sure every maker makes a bow with a shorter draw length. mathews came out with the mustang last year. go to some shops and have her start pulling on some strings. archerytalk.com would be a good place to start looking as well

i'd check w/ Shredder. I think his wife had/has a Parker. I thought she was looking at a new one after this years harvest.

The three I have looked at that work well is the Parker Challenger, Hoyt Sierratec, and the Mathews Mustang. I was thinking of upgrading her to the Hoyt or Mathews models but she is content/happy with the Parker so we may wait another year. The Parker bow runs about $325 and the hoyt and mathews are over $500. If I were you, I would get the Parker to start off with then upgrade if archery is something she plans to continue with. Critrgitr's wife shoots to so get his input as well. Good Luck.
