Things really fell apart last night, literally!

Well, I am beyond bumbed out. I got in my stand last night at about 5:30. As soon as I settle in, I always draw my bow back to make sure everything is fine with it. At about 6:45 I have a nice doe come in broadside at about 25 yards. Chip shot! I get ready, start to draw my bow and about half way back, the damn thing just explodes. I have no idea what happened. The limbs and everything look fine, the string did not break, and the cams look fine. Some how, the string just jumped off the cam. My string is completely off, and one of my cables has fallen off one side. My peep and cable slide are laying somewhere under my stand. It's a brand new 06' Trykon. I don't understand how this could have happened. Has anybody ever heard of something like this happening. This couldn't have happened at a worse time with the next 2 weeks being prime time to be in the stand. I'm gonna drop it off at CIA over my lunch break today and hopefully they can have me back up and shooting very shortly. Any idea to what caused this?

Had a buddy a couple of years ago get a small branch between his string and cam as he drew on a deer, same thing happened to him, he nearly fell out of the tree when his bow blew up. Are you sure that didn't happen to you? I can't think of any other explanation...

did you press the bow to swap strands concerning your peep issue? You may have not had it "completely" in the cam grove?

Yeah, I pressed it in order to fix my peep, but I've shot it about 50 times since then. Maybe something got between the string and cam, but like I said I drew it back once when I settled into my stand and it was fine. After that it just hung on my hanger until that doe came by. I don't see how anything could have gotten between the two. Another fear I have is that since it was basically dry fired when the string came off, is that it may have done some damage to the limbs or cams. I looked it over when I got home and everything looked to be fine, but I'm far from a bow tech. I wasn't at full draw when it came off, so that may have saved me.

I had a "buddy" dry fire mine for me

Didnt do any serious damage just needed new silencers and a peep put back in. It didnt appear to do any damage to the string, cam or limbs. After getting the string put back on it seems to shoot just fine.

I was hunting with a buddy and his girlfriend 2 seasons ago and the same thing happened. A doe and fawn passed under me headed for her. I heard the shot and was postive she had shot. I go down and mad my way around the wheeler trail. And she was on the ground holding her bow. The string had jumped off one of the cams? We took to the pro shop that night and the "expert

" Beind the counter told her thats more than likely what happened was when she released the string was already mostly off and the sudden release cuase it to come off.
Hope you get back up and hunting soon.

Just got back from CIA and they looked the bow over and said there was no damage done to it. Put the string and cables back on and it's shooting as good as ever. They said the same thing a couple of you guys did, that I must have gotten a small twig stuck between the string and cam and didn't realize it. I'll definately be checking for that more ofter while in the stand.

Good to hear that you got the bow back and working so quickly. I bet you about shat yourself when it exploded on you. Good luck the rest of the season, at least you didn't have that dream buck standing under you when it happened

I wish I could have seen the look on my face, because I know it was one of pure confusion. I bet I looked real stupid!

Im a little late with this post but my buddys 06 Allegiance did the same thing and we looked it over to see if a twig got caught and could see no place of wood being on the cams and took it to a bow shop and he said could of had bow torque on the bow so much that the strings rolled of the cams
