Three or four blade?

I've shot muzzy's for years now and i'm due another package, i've been shooting three blades, but i've been told four blades will fly more consistently. is there any true to this? btw, i shoot 5575 goldtips and 100 grain broadheads. thanks in advance for any info.

I have been told the same and did try three blade and four blade Muzzy's. Although, I was not comfortable with the Muzzy, I went with G5 Montechs and NAP Crossfires, the four blade did fly a little better. But, the fourth blade adds additional surface area for the wind, etc. to cause planing. That said the 4 blades did fly more consistent than three.
Also, the 4 blades go together differently than the 3 blades balancing the head a little better. In fact, slick trick heads are a 4 blade fixed that go together in a similar fashion. Slick tricks claim to have field point accuracy and those who have used them say that's true.

Last summer prior to the bow season I decided to change broadheads. I purchased a pack of Muzzy three blades, a pack of Muzzy four blades, and a pack of Grim Reapers.

After shooting many arrows with all the broadheads I believe that the Muzzy four blades flew more consistently for me than the Muzzy three blades did. Neither the three blade or the four blade flew like my target arrows.

The Grim Reaper mechanicals flew exactly like my target arrows.

I have both the Grim Reaper and the Muzzy broadhead’s in my hunting quiver for this season. I intend to try both of them on deer.
