So, I decided to keep all of my stuff in one huge thread I update every few days.

Target Bucks:
The hard antlered bucks name is now Kickers, he's going to be my opening day target since he shows up daily to this cam.

x2, good luck this fall young man! Also, you should probably expect that some of the bucks you have been getting on cam this summer will evaporate soon as the velvet horned batchelor groups break up. BUT, you will also likely see some new bucks too. There is usually a "mixing" of sorts that occurs about now each fall where many bucks relocate from their summer haunts to the their predominant fall locations.

I say this just so you don't get too fixated on any one buck and hold out for him through the season only to find out he has relocated. On our farm there are some bucks that we have NEVER had a picture of until about the 1st of October each year and then the same buck is MIA starting about the middle of December. This is for 3 years running.

First update:

Just pulled my card and here are a few pictures...dates and times are wrong.

Update

Just called a friend of mine in Missouri and looks like I might be heading down there for youth season too! Youth season however here it opens in 5 days, 11 hours, 24mins, and 30 seconds!

Well, after bugging my mother about it she let me bring her HD camera out into the woods for a few hours. Still working on figuring it out, love this first picture...

I've seen quite a few with that velvet still on in my pictures. Mostly all the little ones haven't shed out.

Sat out this morning, (just got back) I didn't want to sit in this spot all day because I know they won't be there. Had a doe at 20 yards and a fawn at 15. Had this small buck at 30 yards and man was that a rush!

Also had these two guys plus a doe and another buck 125 yards away then they ditched into the corn! I was shaking so bad by this point and they weren't even infront of me. I'm getting ready to head out to my stand on my bosses place.

Cool thread biebs....good luck the rest of the way!

Thank you, sure hope to get one big boy down.

Update:

I haven't seen very many bucks as I was hoping...just all does mostly that I've passed up. Passed up about 10 Does and 4 Bucks so far. I can't get out till Wednesday after XC. I have a meet Tuesday too. Might get out tonight if I can and have my Dad sit in my other stand 100 yards away. Or a buddy stand. We'll see how it goes. A good friend invited me to go with him and his Dad and another guy on a managed property (aprrox. 500 acres) had 5 does come out at about 6pm and just hang around the entire time downwind at 30-75 yards and one doe at sunset came 5-10 yards away and downwinded my bag I had on the ground. I was in a tall stand over a 20 acre alfalfa plot and corn plot. My friend and his Dad didn't have much luck either. Passed 5 does.

Well, update I guess...

Went out Wednesday night I decided to set up on a pond with my Dad. We got out at about 5pm and saw movement in a mud patch. A buck was right next to the pond bedded where you could just make out his antlers (will post pictures of exact bucks later) he was right at 100 yards. I decided to wait and a big buck comes from the south end of the pond and walks all the way over to this other little buck (this was the big buck I was after) and they started spurring and fighting and they didn't give me a shot. The noise brought in 2 more bucks a small 8 and a velvet buck that was 20 yards from me. I was so tempted to get the velvet buck but passed him up because I wanted the big boys. It was just getting late they were still fighting and messing around with no good shot at 100 yards and then the velvet buck walked 75 yards and the others ditched into the timber then came back out at 75 yards. Still no shot! So, I told my Dad I was going to sneak up on them really quick before he left for the combine. I snuck up to 75 yards (they had moved farther back) I put my sights on the big buck and watched him 75 broadside and I shot too high!!! It hit a tree behind him. As he ran off the little bucks got curious and came about 30 yards away then ran off. That was the end of that hunt!
