I have to agree with pharmer but that early morning when the birds are all fired up is sure hard to beat.

I think there is something special about early morning. Being there when the timber wakes up is pretty neat and the birds always seem fired up early on to me. Man I can't wait.

..favorite time to hunt - early morning when they are cuttin' loose!...if you cannot get excited about turkey hunting when the birds are going nuts you aren't all there...with that said the best time, in my experience, to kill one is in the mid-morning - but that wasn't the question...

plus it sure is a helluva lot easier sneaking in under the cover of darkness... or if yer like me, you sneak in, realize you don't have your tag or shells - motor back to the house - get back at full daylight, setup and spank your bird 30 minutes later
