Did a little ice-fishing today for about 2 hours and hammered the gills and a couple crappie. The biggest gill that I measured was 9.5" with an average of 8-9" and the big crappie was 12 3/4", all out of a farm pond. Oughta make for some nice table fare. In the pic is also the auger that I set up after getting the idea from I believe TLambert... It works awesome!!! I have a 6" auger with an 18V Dewalt drill and it takes about 5 seconds to drill through a foot of ice! Wish I would have thought of doing that years ago..

How many holes could you get out of your auger? We had about 16" of ice and with a 6" auger and 18v dewalt we were getting 10 holes per battery....not new batteries by any means though.
They do work pretty slick!

I haven't tried drilling until it died yet... I usually drill less than 10 holes per outing... Next time I go, I'll have to see how many I can get.

nice catch! im going out this weekend to a farm pond of my buddies. hopefully we have as much luck as you!

You should do well... They were definitely in the spirit for biting the other day. I had a double rig on with a little glow-in-the-dark jig with a red head on the bottom jig, and a foot above that, I had a black jig. Both were tipped with wax worms.. The last few times I've went out, they have really seemed to prefer the glow-in-the-dark one.
