Too early ?

Anyone else finding the birds weren't where they were last year ? I usually have an eye on 3-4 groups of birds a year but this year I can only pin down one group . Going To go scout tomorrow morning before work . My afternoon trips have been relatively a waste of gas other than seeing some deer .

I think all these days with high winds keeps them tucked in the valleys and timbers. Your best bet would be going out and listening for them at daybreak. I'm guessing they are still around, just not up high where they are easy to spot.

Out this morning saw a few birds but no flocks bigger than a group of 2. Only saw one strutter. Probably checked 8-9 locations ive seen them in the past and only 3 yeilded results, 2 of which were the birds crossing the road.

Go to where you are seeing the turkeys at 6am. Park your truck on the road. Get out and listen.

Little windy this moroning so didnt hear any gobblers from the parked truck, however once driving around I saw 4 different groups of birds. Some of my old faithful spots where I've killed turkeys before are dry this year however..

I was out this morning. There were turkeys in the mountain, turkeys in the locker, turkeys on heddermans, turkeys on bohlmans, and turkeys behind Hans house. Haven't been north of town but I'm sure they are everywhere out there too. Go get em.

Ones by the mountain right by the road ?

They were roosted in the y of the creek right in the middle of the section.
