Well, let me just say first of all that my wife rarely goes out with me, whether it be scouting or hunting. Hell froze over 2 years ago when she went on a sit with me...stupid me takes her up in a tree stand in 20 mph winds...yeah, I know!! Well, hell froze over again when I did get her to film a little bit last year, but I think we'll just stick to scouting for the most part...everytime (except the 1st) we've had incredible action...(hunting action

)...the buck I killed last year, we had him in front of us with 4 other nice ones and last night was no exception.

So, enter last night...we get dressed and she makes the comment on how I enjoy dressing her up in camo...I wouldn't compare it to girls dressing Barbie dolls, but there is something sexy about my wife in camo!

So, we head to check the trail cams to find some good pics, and we decide to take the fenceline along a field edge to just sit down.

We are not sitting 5 minutes and my wife leans over, "how long before we see something?" I tell her that there may be a chance at anytime in the last 1hr and a half before dark...she leans back "I see one."

"No, you can't see one this fast, we just say down..."

"but there's something right there..."

"no, I'm the expert...you just sit there and keep still and quiet"

Out jumps a doe about 25 yds from us at that moment... I ate my words and my wife was smiling...what happened next was incredible...we were well camo'd out and the doe came over and ATE 3 YDS from us, undetected...I could have stuck an arrow out by hand and caught a lung!! The mature doe came out and walked about 10 yds from us and knew something wasn't right, but man, what an experience. I'm not sure my wife knew how rare that is...

I'm sure some of you have gotten closer, but deer filled the field all night long...what an amazing night!

I write this thread knowing that some wives will never go out with their husband...as I said earlier, hell froze over 2 years ago so don't give up hope...perhaps some of you don't even want your wives to go out!!!

I keep asking and she keeps saying no. Something about house work to do or...
If it is a guilt trip she is playing on me I haven't caught the hint yet

Cool experience!

I'm always torn about taking the wife...I mean it would be fun to have her along so that she could experience what I do...but I also enjoy the fact that this is something that I get to do without her and since I hardly have any time to do it in first place....

Well, like I said, I'm torn...

Congrats on getting her out and seeing some deer, it is amazing to be able to have one that close!

I know what you mean. Everytime I would ask she would roll her eyes and say "Sure I'll go, if you go to Archivers and go scrapbooking with me" and I'm not about to do that so it will be me and the voices in my head in the stand

cool story,I just got my wife a new bow have everything ready to go and we found out we are going to have are first baby hope she gets one before morning sickness kicks in
 
headed to southern iowa this weekend with my wife. We have a great time together in the woods.

The only problem is that I have to buy 2 of everything for hunting now!!
