Tracking Question

Don't worry, no deer shot. Just a general question regarding tracking and persons involved. Wondering if it is legal to have someone who does not have a deer tag for a specific season help with tracking after the shot, and if so, do they need a general hunting license? Let's assume they are not involved in the hunt up to that point, so not sitting with the shooter, calling, spotting, driving deer, filming, etc before the shooter takes the shot. Maybe they just have more experience tracking, or the shooter can't find the trail or the deer, so they want more eyes in the area. Thoughts?

Legality, I'm Not sure.
Morality, I put forth every effort to recover a wounded deer. I have helped a specific buddy many times who is red/green colorblind even if I didn't have a tag for that season.

I've done it so if it's illegal I guess I was unaware. I don't see a problem with it as long as they don't have a weapon and don't plan on tagging the deer in the situation you described. Why wouldn't the dnr want you to recover a wounded deer?
