Trail cam help

So I just got a trail cam and went out to the land last weekend. Went to where I thought I should put it which was between a bedding area (grove) and the food source. Found out the trails they have been taking, as of last year, has about 6 feet tall grass. Their is a river running the edge of the grove and standing corn on the other side of the river. Help?
 
Mount the camera overhead in a tree higher up. Doesn't have to be at ground level and some experts saying this is best because even the newest trail cams can still scare deer. I don't necessarily support that opinion, but is an option.
 
I just put up a trail cam today with a similar issue. I know they travel from one location to another and there is about a 15 foot wide patch of tall grass all along the field edge. I still put the cam at a typical elevation, but made a trail through one spot in the grass with the hope that the deer will take it as it is now the path of least resistance. Not sure if it will work like I hope, but its worth a shot. Good luck!
 
I would recommend pounding a T-post or two on the edge of the grass and cornfield; point it facing down the first row of corn. Just make sure you aren't facing directly East or West as the sun has the tendency of tripping your camera. I've had good luck on the edge of cornfields, especially when you have the travel route dialed.
 
The farm I run cameras at has a 20 yard buffer strip all around the crop edges. Frustrating!! I think the best way to go would to be just put in a fence post on the edge and hang your cam but I am paranoid about it being stolen so I stick to the timber but I know I am missing a lot in the fields. If you can put up a fence post or something, I would do that a long the field edge.
 
Well yesterday I set up the cam almost right next to my tree stand facing north towards corn. I dumped some C'Mere Deer about 10 yards in front of the cam in a spot I cleared for better cam pics. Let's hope for the best! I I get any worth posting, I'll sure share! Thanks for all the help
 
Dont know what type of cmere deer you are using but if its going to create a lick site you should prolly move if from right next to your stand.
