Trail Cam technical question

Just a quick question for anyone that may know. We had a some kind of varmint chew on one of our cameras. It appears to be ok except for the lens over the motion sensor. Does anyone know when they build there home brews if it takes a special lens for this use. Or will any type work. The camera it was on was a Cuddeback c1000 and the current lens is a Fresnel type with a gray tint.

Thanks in advance for any help

I have had the same problem twice on one of my cuddeback cameras. They tried to tell me that woodpeckers will sit on top of the camera and peck at the lense... Believe it if you want but that is what they told me. Anyways they recommended I build some kind of a shelf to put over it which I have not done. They required that I send it to them to fix for a charge of 35$ or the warranty would be void on the camera. I believe they also have some sort of seal or grommet that they have to replace when the cameras are taken apart.
