Trail cams on public ground

Anyone ever had enough guts to put up trail cams on public ground ?? I am now hunting PG exclusively and it would be fun but probably an expensive thing to try .

If you find mine, don't take them

You'd have just as good of luck tacking a $100.00 bill to a tree in some of the public areas around here.

I honestly don't worry about it on public land. I figure im walking 30 minutes back in the nastiest stuff imaginable in 80+ degree weather with an army of mosquitoes drilling me. If someone else is crazy enough to walk in the same conditions and happen across my trail cam and have all the tools it takes to break it loose, then they deserve it.

That's not the way it happens around here. The walk in and conditions are true to the guy placing the camera, but the guy grabbing the camera rode in on an ATV, dropping empty Miller Lite cans along the way, and then grabbed his bolt cutters which are strapped to the fender to finish the job. Then he tears up the ground with his driving on his way out, to ad injury to insult.

I don't hang my trail cams on 4-wheeler trails

Just joking.

I've noticed those 4-wheeler guys, dont usually get off the 4-wheeler much

I do. Got a pic of a couple squirrel hunters about a mile from any road, thought I was safe. The one guy had one mean handlebal mustache.
