Treestand choice

I am curious to what kinds of treestands people use most of the time? More directly, fixed, ladder or climbing? I would imagine that it is fixed but I'm curious to see the results. Thanks in advance for any posts.

Fixed stands mainly....total of 15-16, one ladder stand, and one climber......Have never used the ladder...rarely use the climber. Getting a new Lone Wolf prior to the fall season..the hang on with the sticks

Speaking of stands and types of stands. I went out today to check the progress of a small food plot and also looked at the ladder stand we had put up this spring. I was a bit shocked to see it bent on the top seat platform. I soon figured out that one of the storms we've had recently has rocked the tree back and forth and since it was locked on tight and the legs firm into the ground it just bent. Not real bad but I loosened it just in case another hurricane roles in.

Now as for the stand I use most often, that would be a fixed position stand and a ladder coming in second. I tried a climber before and I'm just don't care for them much. Besides, with my LW climbing sticks I don't really need one.

50/50 fixed /climber. I did add a set of Lone Wolf Sticks and a strap on to the inventory last year and another last week. The climbers are history.

I had close to 22 stands and am slowly getting rid of them because of the Lone Wolf gear. Wasn't a believer until I tried one.

FIXED POSITION 90% OF THE TIME AND MOSTLY ONE OF MY FOUR OLD LONE WOLF UNLESS ITS A HIGH TRAFFIC AREA THEN I USE A CHEAPER STAND.

3 ladders, one fixed stand that I use an old ladder stand to get into, a climber that I used maybe twice and realized it just isn't for me and I bought some of Moosehunters sticks that I plan on using instead of the old ladder stand. I'm thinking of combining two of the 15 foot ladders into 1 20 footer.

Mostly hang on stands with screw-in steps. Starting to really like the ladder stands. Even the cheap ones from Cabelas are handy and easy to put up. Feel a lot safer going up and down.

The gorilla series work well for me. Might try a lone wolf this year with all the hype....but they might just be a hair to big. Usaully i hunt portable with a baby kong.

AHA! All this time I was thinking that those droppings left on my ladder stands seats were from another variety of tree rat! The least you could do would be to clean up after yourself.
