Well it took a couple weeks but I got it done with a bow and boy was he worth it.
The story begins yesterday after work it was just too nice to not get out and do a little walking around and who better to bring with me than my soon to be wife. I decided the smart thing to do was get into this hay field early and set my blind up and get it all ready to go for the morning. I had been seeing a lot of toms on this farm and only had plans to set up get out and come back in the morning. Well after about an hour of getting everything how I wanted it was just about time to decide if I wanted to spook everything by walking out or sit untill they roost. I snuck back to the truck grabbed my bow and the camera and sat down for about a 30 minute hunt. After about 20 minutes of teaching mal how to run the camera we had a tom coming in. She got right on him he came in knocked down the decoy strutted a little bit kicked the decoy again. I decided we had enough video and I let him have it. He ran about 40 yards and just like that there were 4 more toms on him get him back for all the times he had kicked there a$$. I tell mal after the toms leave you can stop recording and that is when she realized you have to push the record button to start recording. What do you do I couldnt be mad because she felt awful but when it was all said and done I had a good hunt with her and she got to see why I love the sport. The bird weighed 26 pounds and had 1 1/2 inch spurs with a 11 inch beard a 8 inch beard and a 6 inch beard.
I decided not to post pictures so that you guys get that same dissapointed feeling I had. No Just joking I will have them up when I get off work today.
Sorry for no outdoor pics it was dark lastnight and rainy today.
