I have two scent blocker jackets that have a very pugent chemical odor similiar to paint. They have always been stored in scent free containers.
The first jacket picked up the odor last year and I tryed everything to get rid of it. I washed it and dryed it repeatedly. I then left it out in the elements for 6 months but I still can't get rid of the odor.
My second jacket picked up the odor at the start of the season and I can't get rid of it either.
I finally contacted the company to relay my troubles. They acknowledged the odor as "normal" even stating their president has a jacket that smells but they repeatedly stated the odor will not spook the deer and were not willing to replace or remove the odor from my jackets. We both acknowledged that the conversation ended with a disatisfied customer.
Again the smell is very noticable and very foriegn.
Anybody else have this problem? Sorry for airing my concerns but I thought I should pass this information on to fellow members.
On a side note and suprisingly without using the "carbon" garmits this has been my best year ever considering I haven't spooked (stomping blowing etc) a single deer in stand.
