True Fire fires too much

Well I am still fuming. The last couple times I have shot my bow, I have accidentaly "tripped" the trigger on my release while I was drawing it, or at least I thought it was my fault even though I draw with my fingers behind the trigger. Well today I shot 3D and 5 different times the release triggered while I was drawing it back yielding 3 lost arrows and some good brusing on my arm.

Has anyone had any trouble with the true fire releases?
I have the judge. Ive only had this thing for a little more than a year. Ive loved it up until now but that is just downright dangerous if it keeps doing this, not to mention a pain in the ass and costly as well. I can't see why a release would wear out after only a year... and I don't shoot a ton. I just figured if anyone had any input on these releases, then this would be a good place to ask.

I dont know a whole lot about the true-fire but i know on my tru-ball there is a sensitivity screw. Try to look and see if yours might have one of them. If you dont have paperwork for it you can probably find a unopened box at your local shop to look at and check? My buddy has shot for a long time and i know he has a tru-ball stinger (<$40) and its going on eight years old now. If your in the market to get a new one look at one of them. His is a stinger model. Hope any of this might help. GOOD LUCK...

I agree, I would bet that the sensitivity screw needs to be tweaked a little bit. Try looking around the base of the trigger for a very very small allen wrench screw hole.

DWilk,... I have a TruFire Judge and I really like it alot.... have not had any issues with it. If you have your release set for a hair trigger than it may be the screw has turned a little. If I remember correctly there is 2 set screws... one adjusts trigger travel and the other the amount of tension needed... But if you have it set up for a longer travel trigger pull then I would contact the manufacturer and see what they say.... it would likely be a mechanical problem.

I have had mine for about 1 1/2 years... I shoot 3-4 times per week...

Hey yeah thanks fellas. I have adjusted the trigger pull before, and it isn't even on the most sensitive it could be, so I just think something is failing. I'm not taking any more chances. I'll look into it a little more, but thanks for the replies.
Cornfed- I like the release also, up until this started happening. We'll see anyways. I don't feel like shooting someone at a 3D shoot

If you are shooting a loop take a hard look at it. This happened to me once and turned out my string loop was badly worn from a bad spot on my release jaws. I popped myself in the face twice before I figured it out with the help of someone right here.

DWilk.... I just found the directions with mine.... it says that the set screw is VERY sensitive... a single turn of the set screw can go from lots of trigger travel to NOT being able to hold under weight... hope you get it figured out... that would be enough to create target panic in the best of shooters

If after adjusting the sensitivity screw, you still have troubles with it, don't be afraid to send it back to Trufire.

My friend has the same release you have and he actually had it fall apart on him. He lost the trigger and everything when he was walking to his stand.

He called trufire and he sent it to them and he had it back in a couple of weeks good as new.

They seem to stand behind their products very well.
